The Shimano SLX BR-M7000 is a disc brake with organic pads (without cooling fins) that provides high braking force with low operating force. So you have the best deceleration performance even on demanding descents. The brake caliper was designed according to Ice-Technology and ensures optimum heat management; in addition, it can be easily bled via One Way Bleeding. The ergonomic brake lever is equipped with the Servo Wave construction, which optimally converts the lever travel into power. Of course, the BL-M7000 also features the I-Spec II design, which enables space-saving integration of brake and shift lever and opens up many adjustment options.

When you pull a Servo Wave brake lever, initial pad travel is fast, so little lever movement is needed to bring the pads into contact with the rotor. The power multiplication factor then increases rapidly at the pad-to-rim contact so more of the lever stroke is used to apply greater braking power with improved control.
The SLX M7000 levers are compatible with the I-Spec II system, that allows to mount the shift and brake lever on the handlebar with only a clamp. This gives more freedom in the cockpit-design, save weight and improves the ergonomics thanks to diverse adjustment possibilities. Simple structure with narrow brake lever clamp band. More space on handle bar and cleaner appearance. Max. adjustment range vertical: 15°, max. adjustment range horizontal: 12 mm. I-Spec II brakes are not compatible with I-Spec- and I-Spec B shifters (and vice versa).
One-Way-Bleeding was developed for quick and easy prevention of air in Shimano's hydraulic system. They have streamlined the oil route throughout the system to prevent air bubbles from being captured in the system.
One way oil routing plus a funnel tool with mineral oil provides an easy and clean bleeding system.
Brake fading during prolonged uninterrupted operation, e.g. downhill, impairs braking performance. Shimano has introduced brake discs and pads with Ice-Tech technology to create a cooling technology for consistently high braking performance. The brake rotor has a three-layer stainless steel sandwich structure on the outside around an aluminium core. It radiates heat better and reduces a surface temperature from 400° C to 300° C, for example. The brake pads also have optional cooling fins. The design of the rotor in combination with the cooling fins results in a longer service life of the pads, less braking noise, less fading and a lower weight.
XTR, Saint, Deore XT, SLX, Zee, Deore LX calipers are bundled with Ice Technology pistons in order to achieve optimized lightweight, high rigidity and heat dissipation. Oversized pistons transfer hydraulic power directly to the brake pad, and ceramic material is used to avoid heat transfer for constant stable braking, providing efficient stopping power transfer without loss.
